Question 2

Describe the triple constraint.  What are the three components and what is the relationship between them?

The 3 components are:

* Scope.- It is a detail information provided by the customer or organization that needs a project to be done.

*Time.- It is what you need to figure out how long a project will be take to get it done.

*Budget.- It is the amount of money that you'll need to get a project done. 

All these 3 components go together; therefore, to star a project you need a scope, then you need to find out how long is this project is going to take you, and finally budget which a believe is the most important because in this one you have to do numbers... thinking on the expenses such as materials, labor and other inconveniences that can occur on any project, which will cost you extra money. 

Question 3

      Briefly describe the strategic planning process; including the SWOT analysis.  Which method do you think businesses use most when identifying IT project?  Why?

  Swot analysis is a structured planing method use to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and treats involved in a project or in a business enterprise.

Question 4

 Some of the adaptive approaches to developing systems (like agile) are becoming more popular. Are they better or more appropriate than prescriptive approaches in most cases? Why or why not?

Sometimes agile and other kind of programs are hepful when the customer is undecided. This programs are design with the finality to execute a project in a faster and easier manner. 

Question 5

     Process Groups - How much time and money is typically spent on projects in each of the process groups. Assume you have one year and $100,000 to spend.  Justify your answer.

 I'd follow the guidelines of time and money spend on a project set by the alpha projects managers who historically had the amount of successful projects.

      Even if a project team is not part of project selection, why is it important for them to know why their project was selected?    

      It is important for them to know, because they are the original creators of a project and their thinking can contribute to set the bases to reach the goals for final project in a certain amount of time.

Can recent college graduates expect to be project managers right away? What is a typical career path for a project manager Using the Internet, research the average salary of a PM in South Florida.  Is this for an experienced project manager?  Which sites (URL) did you use to find average salaries?

No. I don't think college graduates can be project managers right away. I believe that to be a Project Manager you need to acquire certain level of training, because the success or failure of the organization relies on you. Project Managers have various responsibilities; such as: 


*Planing, executing and closing projects

*Managing Teams
*Managing Expectations

The average salary for a PM in South Florida with 7 yrs of experience on the field is over 89K, according to www.salary.com

     Why do you think organizations should develop their own information technology project management methodologies? Why can’t they just follow a book or a methodology that has already been developed?

     It would be easier to follow a methodology that has already been developed, but we believe that every company should create their own methodology; Therefore, every company has different goals or interest that they want to achieve; as well as the internal areas of the organization.
